A grand scale 19th century French Provençal Louis XVI style enfilade buffet handcrafted of cherry with fruitwood inlay by master cabinet makers near Avignon, circa 1880s. Having a rectangular plank top over a center bank of four drawers stacked one upon the other flanked by a pair of doors on each side, this exceptional neoclassical chateau buffet measures almost 9.5 feet long. The case and four raised panel doors feature inlaid bands while the drawers all feature rectangular inlaid bands outlining the drawer fronts and lozenge shaped inlaid bands surrounding the circular brass pulls. Raised on seven short tapered feet with brass sabots on the front four feet. The interior reveals a single shelf on each side for ample storage. All original brass hardware. This elegant buffet, with its straight lines and beautiful patina, complements both contemporary and traditional interiors, while the narrow depth makes it a very versatile piece. A wonderful piece that's perfect for entertaining and storing china and serving pieces with spacious cabinets, drawers and serving surface. Perfect for a dining room, foyer, hallway, or as a TV cabinet.
